洪偉明 Ivan Hong

Ivan Hong, a visionary in the Taiwan fashion industry, is renowned for his innovative contributions and trendsetting achievements. From directing the iconic “Marshmallow Queen Event” to styling top celebrities, he has become synonymous with fashion excellence. Driven by a passion to offer aspiring talents a platform to shine, Ivan founded Catwalk Model Agency with a mission to prepare models for dynamic, well-rounded careers. Under his leadership, Catwalk has transcended traditional modeling, positioning itself as a pioneer at the intersection of fashion and entertainment in Asia.

  • 1950’s

    Born in Hong Kong in 1951, Hong moved to Taiwan as a child. Influenced by his uncle, he discovered his passion for fashion as a student.
  • 1970’s

    Hong graduated from Fu-Hsin Trade and Arts School and later enrolled in the Department of Art at National Taiwan Normal University. Later leaving his studies at NTNU to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, Hong initially worked as a backup dancer for Ouyang Fei-Fei and as a stylist for Taiwanese hostess Chang Hsiao Yen.
  • 1980’s

    In 1978, Hong officially entered the industry as a stylist and fashion show director. He crafted visual styles for numerous celebrities, including Stella Chang, Gong Li, and Sarah Chen in her iconic "Dream to Awakening" video. He later founded Catwalk, Taiwan’s first professionally managed modeling agency.
  • 1990’s

    In 1995, Hong became Executive Director of the Taiwan Textile and Fashion Design Association, organizing the groundbreaking "Fashion Feast" event, Taiwan’s first major fashion-charity collaboration.
  • 2000’s

    Successfully launched the model career of Lin Chi-ling in 2004, establishing Catwalk as a top talent company.
    Hong launched the career of Taiwan’s top model, Lin Chi-ling, sparking the nation's supermodel craze. He continued attending international fashion weeks and partnered with EBC News to bring the latest trends to Taiwan, establishing himself as the pinnacle of Taiwan's fashion commentary scene.

    Dream Star, the first public model competition led by Catwalk.
    Created the Dream Star talent competition.
  • 2009

    Founded in-house beauty brand and CatwalkGirl Fashion Website.
    Launched an in-house beauty brand and CatwalkGirl Fashion.
  • 2010

    Bringing together 30 years of fashion experience, Ivan Hong tells all about the fashion industry and gives viewers a pronunciation guide of brand names.
    Hong Published his first book, 'C’est la Mode', and also brought in designer Fong-Chih Lu to found the couture brand “LUHONG COUTURE”. He was an ambassador for the Taiwan Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo and started a column in the Chinese edition of L’officiel. He was invited as a recurring panel judge for the designer reality show 'Super Designer'.

    Globetrotting from Milan to Paris, Ivan Hong brings back new knowledge of trends from different regions.
    He has held a fashion critic column in Vogue Taiwan touching on current fashion news and trends.

    Fashion is a way of life, ever-present and limitless, with no boundaries in cross-industry collaborations.
    Hong collaborated with shoe designer Michael Antonio in Fall/Winter 2012
  • 2013

    Ivan Hong, an industry expert, is a frequent guest judge for international magazine and television events.
    Hong served as a panel judge for the Taiwan Elle Style Awards.
  • 2014

    Founder Ivan Hong (right) is seen celebrating 30 years of Catwalk.
    Appointed artistic director for the first celebrity and fashion reality show 'Dressing the Muse'.
  • 2015

    LuHong Couture's official opening at  Mandarin Oriental on May 30, 2015.
    Hong, along with Lu Fang-chih, co-founded the bespoke brand LUHONG COUTURE, which marked its 5th anniversary by opening its first flagship store at the Mandarin Oriental in Taipei.
  • 2017

    Hong was invited to attend the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda couture dinner in Beijing, where he had the opportunity to meet and connect with the designers.
